WHAT TO EXPECT?
What should I do when I arrive?
1. RELAX – Make yourself at home! Grab some coffee. Feel free to participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable.
2. DROP OFF THE KIDS –
We provide a clean, caring nursery for children from birth through age 2. The nursery is located directly to your right as you enter the Sanctuary building through the main entrance. For the safety and security of all children who visit and regularly attend Northwood Church, we will assist you in signing your child in to our care and will give you a pick up receipt that matches your child. We use this system for both Nursery and Kid’s Church.
We have specially designed worship services for our Pre-K children ages 3 – 5 and Elementary ages 6 – 11 that meet during our Sunday morning worship service. These services take place in our Kid’s building which is located closer to the front of the campus, adjacent to the Sanctuary.
3. FILL IN THE CONNECTION CARD – On your first visit we ask that you fill out the Connection Card tab that is on the Worship Guide at each seat. Please take the Card to the Connection Center at the end of the service.
4. GRAB A FREE GIFT – If this is your first-time, we’d like to offer you a FREE gift! Swing by the Connection Center after the service, turn in the Connection Card and you will receive your FREE gift. We do this just to say Thank You for being our guest.
What can I expect when I arrive on a Sunday?
The Northwood church family has some of the warmest, most friendly people you will ever meet. You can expect someone to greet you before you even walk through the doors. You will also find complimentary, freshly-brewed coffee available just outside of the Sanctuary building main entrance. Once inside the foyer, there will be ushers available to lead you inside the sanctuary to a seat where you can prepare yourself for a powerful worship service, a refreshing prayer time, and an encouraging message by our pastor, Marty Burroughs.
What should I wear?
Most everyone who attends Northwood dresses very casually. When you visit, you will likely notice there are quite a few people wearing jeans and t-shirts. Please feel free to wear comfortable, casual attire.
Will I be asked to do anything?
We promise to not embarrass you in anyway before, during or after the service. However, we would very much like to get to know you. This is made possible when you complete the connection card attached to each week’s worship guide that you will find waiting for you on your chair when you arrive. We promise that we will only use this information to share more about our church with you and your family. You can opt out of receiving emails at any time. Please take the connection card to the Information Center in the foyer after service, it would be our pleasure to meet you and also provide you with a special gift as a “Thank You” for visiting.
Each week, we collect an offering so that Northwood Church members and regular attendees can support the work and ministry of our church. We do not expect guest to participate in the offering.
At Northwood we believe in the power of prayer! It is very common for us to pray for each other at the end of each service, but please don’t let that worry you. You don’t have to pray out loud or even know how to pray yet.
What about parking?
There is plenty of parking with easy access from Spring Cypress Road. Handicap parking is available on the left side of the Sanctuary building near the main entrance. Families with children ages 3 – 12 may want to park closer to the Kid’s Building.
